A leopard wandered into the Indian city of Gurugram from a nearby forest on April 27, sending residents into a frenzy. It was looking for water.

Nervous residents called forest department officials, who successfully tranquilized the animal after five hours. It was then taken away to a veterinary hospital. No one was injured during the incident.

Animals are forced to stray into human settlements in search of food because of their shrinking habitats.

Wild animals like leopards, panthers, and elephants can cause extensive damage, even claim lives. Sometimes they get killed when they venture into human settlements.
