A police spokesman in Arizona said Lori Vallow, who is at the center of a case that involves the deaths of her children, said she will likely be charged in connection with the 2019 fatal shooting of her former husband.

Chandler, Arizona, police spokesman Sgt. Jason McClimans told Fox News that detectives will attempt to create a case regarding the case of Charles Vallow to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

“I can’t confirm the exact date or timeline when the case will be sent over, but an estimate is four to six months,” McClimans said. Detectives have subpoenas, warrants, and evidence in the case.

“Lori has always been a person of interest in this investigation,” McClimans said. “With regards to this charge, Lori was not the person who shot Charles, as it was already determined Alex Cox did.” Alex Cox, Charles Vallow’s brother-in-law, shot the man in July 2019 after an altercation in his Phoenix-area home.

The shooting was originally believed to be a case of self-defense. Officials, however, are now examining the case again after Lori Vallow’s children went missing, KTVB reported.

Charles Vallow had been seeking a divorce from his wife before the shooting.

The woman’s children, 7-year-old JJ Vallow and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan, were found deceased on the property of her new husband, Chad Daybell, in June 2020.

McClimans told KTVB that Lori Vallow may face conspiracy to commit murder in the case.

According to the report, Charles Vallow told police that he believed his wife “lost touch with reality” and was threatening to kill him, while making references to the doomsday and previous lifetimes. Daybell is the author of several doomsday books.

“I don’t know what she’s going to do with them,” he told officers about Lori Vallow’s children at the time.  “Flee with them. Hurt them.”

Vallow and Daybell were charged in Idaho with felony counts of concealing evidence and conspiracy to conceal evidence after the two children were located.
