Louisiana Bill to Legalize Nitrogen Gas Executions

Louisiana is set to become the fourth state to permit executions using nitrogen gas after a bill successfully passed a legislative hurdle. HB 6 was presented during a special legislative session dedicated to criminal justice matters that opened last week after the first nitrogen gas execution in the United States, carried out by Alabama corrections officials in January.
