Over 400 people have been arrested after government buildings in Brazil were breached and attacked over the weekend. Those include the country’s Congress, Supreme Court, and the presidential palace in the capital of Brasilia. It comes a week after President Lula da Silva was inaugurated. NTD spoke to Marcos Schotgues, the Editor-in-Chief of The Epoch Times Português, for analysis. Schotgues said that a sense of hopelessness may have befallen ex-President Bolsonaro supporters after the former leader went to the United States and the military did not investigate the election, thus giving rise to violence after the New Year whereas the protests were peaceful beforehand. He also outlines what Lula has done in response.
