French President Emmanuel Macron has said France’s position on Taiwan remains the same. It comes after he faced backlash for his comments in an interview, saying it would be the “worst thing” for Europe “to become followers” on the Taiwan issue and “take our cue from the U.S. agenda.” His remarks drew criticism from politicians internationally.
