A new bill—which critics have dubbed the “Transgender Trafficking Bill”—is causing uproar in Maine. It would make Maine a so-called sanctuary state for transgender surgery procedures.

The bill would provide legal protection to non-family-member adults who bring children to the state for transgender surgery procedures against the parents’ will. NTD spoke with the founder of “Courage is a Habit,” a group fighting the bill.
