Malamut dog enjoying a refreshing snow bath

Recently we have shown you how much fun husky dogs can be. A breed that looks very similar to a husky, but is actually a distinct breed in and of itself is the Malamut. Both breeds resemble their wild cousins, the wolf, but Malamuts can grow up to 2-3 times bigger than wolves. Also malamuts are the only domestic dogs native to North America, whereas huskies originated in Siberia. While they have some differences do share several similarities too.

The Alaskan Malamute is a working dog, just like the husky. They are perfect for people who like outdoors. They have a naturally playful nature and need a lot of exercise. For example, they are happy to help in pulling a load in cold weather, like the husky. Malamutes favorite weather is winter, and they should not be kept in hot climate. If said conditions are met, a malamute makes a perfect companion, as demonstrated in the video clip below:
