There are plenty of guys and gals out there who just cannot think of something creative and unique to get their parents. So they resort to the basics. Those for me would be: something from Bath and Body Works for mom, and probably a new pair of slippers and some buck shot for my dad. Simple yet useful is the route I always try to go. This guy though….this guy is on a whole other gift giving level. He puts all of us to shame. Yes, even you. Check out the amazing gift he gave his mother that he made with his own two hands and the sweat from his brow.
He started out with a rock and an axe. He couldn’t be thinking what I think he’s thinking right? Well yes in fact, he is thinking that.
He starts hacking away at the rock, and it slowly comes chipping away.
The chopping continues, this would definitely not be easy work.
When I first saw this picture, I still had no idea what he was trying to make. You can start to make out very rough shape that he seems to be trying to achieve however.
He seems to have gotten all of this done in one afternoon, very impressive!
He started using the chisel to allow him more control over the size of the pieces he is breaking off.
Well now it’s becoming clear, this is going to be the sculpture of a person.
This guy definitely seems to know what he is doing. I wish I had some kind of skill like this.
This progress is all from one day. This is completely amazing!
You can definitely tell this is turning in the sculpture of a women, my best guess would definitely be his mother or possibly wife.
Power tools were necessary to get some of the effects that he wanted with the sculpture.
The shaping of the sculpture seems mostly complete. The finer details are now being focused on.
The detail on this is becoming more and more apparent. It really is incredible that this guy started out with a huge rock.
If this guys mother doesn’t love this…..I don’t know what would make her happy.
The finished product, this is amazing!
What a striking resemblance! This guy did an incredible job!
Well, this guy just put every present I’ve ever given to shame. I always thought my snake sculpture I gave my mom is 3rd grade was the pinnacle of art….but apparently I was sadly mistaken. I can only hope this mom appreciated the work and dedication her son put into making this for her. That must have been some back breaking labor, but hey, so was giving birth I bet!
