A young man from the southern city of Shenzhen in China, has spent 1 million Chinese yuan on plastic surgery to make himself look like Chinese billionaire Jack Ma, founder of Alibaba group – kind of like the Chinese Amazon dot com. The strange thing about it is that Jack Ma is not exactly known for his looks.

The man, named Huang Jian went to Korea for his surgery. Huang, who is a salesman himself says he wants to look like Ma because he is his hero and one day hopes to meet him.

This isn’t the first time someone has been in the news for looking like Jack Ma, in fact several people have achieved it without spending thousands on surgery. This neighbourhood guard from Chengdu bears a resemblance and received a lot of attention as a result. Jack ma himself also got in on the act and posted several photos of look alikes, including this Picasso painting and this 8-year old boy from Jiangxi province.

Ma said: “The first time I saw this boy, I thought my family had uploaded my childhood picture.”

The boy shot to fame with fans actually going to visit him. Reports claimed that Jack Ma was going to pay for the boy’s college fees, but these turned out to be false. Ma told Xinhua news agency: “To fund one child’s education is easy, but in order to help millions of poor children, more resources need to be used.”

To be fair to Ma, he is known as one of the most charitable businessmen in China, a country who’s elite are not known for their charitable giving. He moved 2% of his company’s equity into a charitable fund before it went public, this fund in now worth billions.
