(Lawrence Police Department)

A man who walked into a tax prep business in Indiana with two guns was shot dead by a worker, police said.

Officers in Lawrence said Antonio Bertram, 25, walked into the Colbert/Ball Tax Service just before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6, with a gun in each hand, reported The Indianapolis Star.

“What’s up?” Bertram said.

It was at that point that one of the workers, who was armed, fired at Bertram and struck him once in the chest, reported WISH-TV.

Bertram ultimately died from the wound although officers said he fired at least one shot as he tried to flee after being shot.

Bertram stumbled to the parking lot before collapsing into his car.

The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will decide in the next couple of days whether the employee will face any charges in the death.

There is no video footage of the incident but several witnesses confirmed the facts of the case.

Officers said they believe that Bertram didn’t plan to rob the business but that he was upset over a tax return, reported RTV6.

The exact details of the dispute are unclear.
