Conflicts at a COVID-19 test kit factory in China’s southwest metropolis Chongqing thousands of workers clashed with the police.
Footage online shows workers throwing various objects at officers and the police force running away from angry protesters.
The conflict comes as 8,000 workers were laid off by a local drug manufacturer.
During the pandemic, the factory was a big supplier of COVID-19 testing kits with 10,000 employees.
As Beijing abruptly turned away from its “zero-COVID-19” policy, mass testings, and quarantines also ended.
