Normal business in Parliament was suspended Monday, as politicians paid tribute to Sir David Amess, the Conservative member of Parliament who was fatally stabbed on Friday while at his constituency meeting. As one of the country’s longest-serving MPs, he dedicated his career to the town in Essex that he represented, the Speaker of the House earlier describing Sir David as having a reputation for kindness and generosity.
