Some 188,000 residents of Memphis, Tennessee, lost power on the evening of Saturday May 27.
Severe thunderstorms blacked out much of the city.
About 150,000 were still without power Sunday.
According to Memphis Light, Gas & Water President Jerry Collins it will take more than a week to restore service.
He said it was the third largest outage in the city’s history. Only the ice storms in 1994 and Hurricane Elvis in 2003 were worse.
