Met ‘Overthinking’ Protests: Former Detective

Some members of the public have criticised the police’s handling of the Just Stop Oil protests, with some calling for the police to do more to arrest the activists. However, the commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service (the Met) has said his hands are tied over the legal definition of what a “serious disruption” is, meaning the police can’t act until it’s met. To understand more, NTD spoke to a former chief detective, who said the police are overthinking things.
