Met Police Launches Partygate Investigation

Prime Minister Boris Johnson says he welcomes a Met Police investigation into some of the gatherings in Downing Street and Whitehall during lockdowns. Police say they’ve been handed some information from Sue Gray’s ongoing investigation. It comes after Downing Street said the prime minister had briefly attended his own surprise birthday celebration in June 2020 with up to 30 people there.
