A 29-year-old Michigan man has died after a police officer fired a taser gun at him, causing him to fall onto a large knife he was holding, local police said.
Two officers from the Evart Police Department were called to a Marion home on Oct. 11 at around 5:30 p.m. by a woman who said her husband and son were involved in a domestic dispute. The female caller said her son came to their home brandishing two large knives, reported Cadillac News, citing a press release from the Michigan State Police.
State Police said the officers found the woman’s 29-year-old son on foot near an intersection by the couple’s home and ordered him to get on his knees.
The man kneeled as instructed. When the officers ordered him to place his hands on his head, however, he reportedly reached into his waistband to pull out what appeared to be a blade weapon, prompting both officers positioned in front of and behind him to draw their taser guns.
State Police said the officer behind the man eventually fired his taser gun at the man’s back. The man fell forward onto the knife he was holding, which thrust through his chest cavity.
“Officers immediately called for an ambulance and rendered first aid to the subject, however the subject died on scene from the stab wound,” State Police said.
The officers involved in this incident have been placed on administrative leave while an investigation takes place.
Taser Sets Man’s Pants On Fire Outside Philadelphia Steak Restaurant
A man’s pants was set on fire after he was tasered by a security guard outside a steak house.
The incident that took place in February outside Jim’s Steaks in Philadelphia.
Pat Tackney, who filmed the incident and uploaded the video to social media, said the man refused to leave the restaurant when asked and had to be removed by the security staff.
“So I witnessed a man catch fire after being tased last night…” Tackney wrote on Twitter.

The video shows two men, thought to be security guards from the restaurant, grappling with the man, who is on the ground. As he gets up, one of them shoots his taser, as the other steps in front of the camera.
After the man falls to the ground in the middle the road, the his pants catch on fire for a few seconds. He rolls on the ground, shouting, and brushing at his pants with his hands, to put the flames out.
