A large caravan of 8,000 to 10,000 illegal immigrants is making its way through Mexico as Secretary of State Antony Blinken meets with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in Mexico city to discuss border security and illegal immigration.
NTD spoke to Victor Avila, a retired special agent at HSI-ICE, who has just returned from Eagle Pass, Texas, to find out why the caravan’s movement seems to have coincided with Mr. Blinken’s visit.
He also outlined why the Mexican government has been loathe to take action against the massive numbers of illegal immigrants travelling into and through Mexico before attempting to cross the U.S. Southern border.
