Military History for the Modern Strategist: America’s Major Wars Since 1861–A Book Discussion by Brookings

Live Chat

In his new book “Military History for the Modern Strategist: America’s Major Wars Since 1861,” Brookings senior fellow and U.S. defense strategy expert Michael O’Hanlon reviewed America’s major wars since the mid-1800s, and provided a different perspective not only on history but strategy construction for the modern warfare and geopolitics.

In a book discussion held at 10:00 a.m. ET on Jan. 27 by the Brookings Institute, O’Hanlon will talk with retired U.S. Army General Stanley McChrystal about the book.

Brookings Fellow Melanie Sisson will host the event, and the vice president and director of the Brookings Foreign Policy program, Suzanne Maloney, will deliver welcoming remarks.

NTD will livestream the event.
