A witness observed a mother overwhelmed by the London tower fire scream out for help from the public.
She was trying to save her baby by throwing it out of the window from the ninth or tenth floor.
London resident Samira Lamrani spoke about what she observed while standing nearby.
“A woman was gesturing like she was about to throw her baby, if somebody could catch the baby. And somebody did. A member of the public, a gentleman, ran forward and managed to grab the baby,” she said.
A 24-story tower of apartments was engulfed in flames. The fire started on the second floor and quickly moved upward. Two hundred firemen spent hours fighting the fire. Six people are confirmed dead, and many are injured.
