Miranda Lambert is in no mood to discuss her recent marriage to police officer Brendan McLoughlin, despite announcing the news recently.

After landing in McLoughlin’s native New York City, the couple was approached by reporters asking about their new life as newlyweds.

Lambert, 35, wore a baseball cap and clutched a large white pillow as she asked the press to leave her alone.

“Please—can you leave me alone please?” Lambert told Inside Edition on Monday, Feb. 25.

When the reporter persisted, however, Lambert said, “If I say something, will you leave please?” She added, “Like ‘the world should mind their own [expletive] business.'”

Earlier this month, Lambert dropped a bombshell when she announced on social media that she had gotten married.

“In honor of Valentine’s Day I wanted to share some news,” Lambert wrote. “I met the love of my life. And we got hitched! My heart is full. Thank you Brendon Mcloughlin for loving me for…me. #theone.”

The news came as a shock to many, as Lambert had chosen to keep private the fact that she had been dating someone.

Several users commented they were busy researching who McLoughlin is.

Who is McLoughlin?

It turns out that McLoughlin is a New York City police officer in the Midtown South precinct. He has been featured a few times on the precinct’s Twitter page.

McLoughlin also has his own list of accolades.

The NYPD Midtown South precinct gave him and a colleague a shoutout in March, 2018, writing: “This week these fine officers showed what we do best in #Midtown. PO McLoughlin apprehended perpetrator in a bank robbery in progress & PO Donato had a pick up arrest of a truck burglary closing out several open complaints.”

After the pair got married earlier this year in January, according to People magazine, the newlyweds were spotted out and about in New York City’s SoHo district, holding hands and with their wedding bands on full display, on Feb. 16.

How They Met

A friend of Lambert’s told People magazine that the singer met McLoughlin on Nov. 2, 2018, when she performed on “Good Morning America” (GMA) with her Pistol Annies bandmates.

Part of McLoughlin’s assignment in the South Precinct includes Times Square, where “GMA” films.

The Pistol Annies had a concert about a block away from the “GMA” studios later that night.

A friend of Lambert’s gushed about how McLoughlin’s police work really resonated with Lambert, whose father was a homicide-and-narcotics cop for the Dallas Police Department before starting a private detective agency with her mother.

“If you know Miranda’s dad and his background, you can guess why she’d easily connect with Brendan,” the source said.

Sources told the outlet that the couple tied the knot on Jan. 26.

Recently, Lambert surprised fans in Nashville with fellow country stars Keith Urban and Dierks Bentley over the weekend. It was her first appearance since she announced her whirlwind romance.
