A 74-year-old woman from Union, New Jersey, who was reported missing on the morning of Friday, Jan. 12, was located Monday in Mount Sinai Hospital where she is in stable condition.
Mary Ann Clark left her apartment around 5 a.m. Friday morning, headed for the subway station to catch a train to take her to her job in New York City.
Clark, who works for CM&F Group, an insurance underwriter on Hudson Avenue in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood, didn’t show up Friday morning. Her co-workers called the police.
“It’s not like her at all,” co-worker Hilary Ginther told ABC7 News on Friday. “She’s very sharp. She basically runs the place. She’s the office manager, she’s kind of like a mother to all of us.
“We’re very worried about her,” Ginther continued. “She doesn’t have any immediate family in the area.”
On Monday morning, Clark’s co-workers got good news.
Mary Ann Clark had gotten aboard the #1 train as usual on Friday morning, but around 6:30 a.m. suffered a medical episode.
Lt. Robert Christie of the Union Police told News-12 New Jersey that two other passengers on the train saw the Clark was in distress and called 911. Police met the train and took Clark, then unconscious, to Mount Sinai hospital in New York City.
One of the two passengers who called police saw a news report Monday morning, recognized Clark’s photo, and called Union police.
No details about precisely what sort of medical episode Clark suffered have been released, but the latest report is that Mary Ann Clark is awake and alert and in stable condition.
