Five members of a Peruvian police rescue team rescued French tourist, Jean Baptiste Mouette, in the high Andes on Monday after he was reported missing the previous day.

The rescuers located Mouette in a cloud-covered area at an altitude of 4,850 meters (15,912 feet)

Mouette, 30, strayed from his initial pathway and became trapped at the bottom of a ravine and was unable to climb out on his own.

The rescuer tied a rope around his waist and helped him out of the ravine.

The French climber was reported missing by other tourists on Sunday after he failed to return to his hotel.
