We unpack some of what’s in the National Defense Authorization Act for the fiscal year 2022. It approves a $768 billion budget for the Pentagon. The budget includes a pay raise and more parental leave for service members. And it also includes investments in artificial intelligence and in new ways to acquire technology. NTD spoke with naval veteran and financial expert Joe Collins. He shares his perspective on the fact that lawmakers boosted military spending beyond President Biden’s initial proposal.
