Two adults died trying to save a 4-year-old girl in Utah on May 29. One of adults was the girl’s mother.
London DeDios fell into the Provo River on May 29. Her mother Brenda DeDios immediately jumped in after her. So did five other rescuers, including good samaritan 30-year-old Sean Zacharey Thayne.
Rescue crews pulled DeDios and Thayne from the water nearly 3 miles from where they entered. They were taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died.
The girl remains missing. Rescue crews will continue to search for her.
