Mother rescues her little kids from their burning home, then gets trapped herself. How she makes it out is a miracle!

A mother’s love for her children knows no bounds. There are many examples in human history of mothers who have put their children’s safety before her own life and done what most courageous people wouldn’t dare to do! This is the story of one such mother who literally walked through fire to rescue her three children.

Mother of three, Angel Florini, suddenly woke up in the early hours and realized her home was on fire and full of smoke. She immediately rushed to find her children, two of which she was able to get out of the house. But she still had to get the third, 7-year-old Gianna.

Theer was another problem: When Angel rushed back into the flames to get Gianna out, the 18-month-old Rosalie and 3-year-old Vinny tried to follow her back into the house, so she locked herself inside the burning structure until she could find her eldest child.

Then she went searching her daughter in smoking house—a hard task since the smoke made it essentially impossible to see. The fire was really intense, so she embraced her girl to save her from flames, but to due to inhaling extreme smoke they both fell unconscious near the still-locked door.

As luck would have it, former firefighter Matt Burson saw the two little children knocking the front door of the burning house, so he immediately broke into the house to help.

Gianna suffered from second degree burns across 14 percent of her body, but her mother Angel bore the brunt of the heat: second and third degree burns all over her body required extensive skin grafts, as reported by the Independent Journal review.

All four were airlifted to Harbor view Medical Center for treatment.

“You could hear roaring and crackling from the flames and see smoke billowing out the front door,” Matt Burson, the former firefighter who driving by their house that day,  told KHQ Local News.

Burson quoted when he was there on the spot of the incident said, “So I went in on my hands and knees and I saw a woman passed out so I got a hold of her and drag her out, and I heard a moan so I got back down on my hands and knees and went back in just a little further down where the daughter was.”

Angel Florini’s family now calls her “Angel Guardian.”

A family member shared with KREM 2, “[Angel] holds down their family 100%. She’s strong and loving… When you get married to a woman, you hope that your wife will be like that.”
