Muslim and Immigrant Parents Push Back on Maryland’s Mandatory LGBT Curriculum

Muslim and immigrant families came together Tuesday in Maryland to protest against mandatory LGBT curriculum in schools. The protest was organized by a new parents group called Coalition of Virtue. The group, founded by Muslim parents, seeks to bring together people of different faiths and cultures to “revive virtue and reason in our society.”

NTD spoke to a co-founder of the group, Kareem Monib, who says he’s primarily concerned his childrens’ freedom of religion is being infringed upon by being forced to take courses that teach things against their faith.

Furthermore, Monib is also particularly concerned about how these courses go beyond simply teaching about, for example, the history of this ideology, and “celebrate” these ideas.
