Let’s start with college football: How does Ohio State’s loss to Michigan affect the playoff race?

Because it was such a close loss, it’s going to give the committee a tough choice in how far they drop them.

Michigan and Georgia will figure to be 1st and 2nd. Washington should move up to 3rd, but it gets interesting at 4. Florida State is the 4th unbeaten, but their star quarterback is injured. Do they put a 1-loss Ohio State team ahead of them?

It really forces them to decide whether they’re going rank teams based on their full resume—or do they go with who they think would win if they played?

This is the next-to-last ranking, so it’s still not final, but if Florida State loses this weekend, the committee would catch a huge break.
