New arrests made in 1984 French child murder case

Three people were arrested in connection to a child murder that occurred in 1984. France is still haunted by the incident.

Gregory Villemin was found dead in a river with feet and hands tied. Relative Bernard Laroche was arrested, but released on procedural errors, and then shot and killed by the boy’s father.

The boy’s mother was investigated but the case was dropped. The case was reopened on DNA evidence in 2000 and 2008, but tests proved inconclusive.

The three new arrests are of people close to the family.
