New Jersey airport closed after United engine fire

Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey closed briefly.

Flames were seen shooting out of the engine of a United Airlines jet.

The United Boeing 757 was taxiing around 9. p.m. on May 23, when the right engine began belching fire.

The fire was not an issue—the plane was stopped and the fire quickly extinguished.

However, five people were hurt while evacuating the plane.

The airport reopened after two hours.
