New KitKat Cereal Hitting US Shelves in May

Good news, lovers of chocolate cereal.

Food and beverage company General Mills has announced the launch of its KitKat cereal in the United States. The move comes after the company successfully launched the cereal in the United Kingdom last month.

According to an interview with Fox Television Stations on April 28, the company confirmed that KitKat cereal will be making its way to American shelves starting in May.

“Capturing the iconic balance of delicious milk chocolate and wafer taste, the new KitKat Cereal is the perfect way to have a break and indulge,” the food giant told FOX Television Stations.

General Mills, together with its European partner Nestle, has launched many popular cereal brands. Its KitKat cereal will feature mini squares resembling the chocolate wafer bar, together with a creamy coating and its signature crunch, priced at $5.69.

In addition, the company said it will be launching an array of new cereals, as well as cereal bars and snacks, later this spring.

Included in this will be some unusual concoctions, such as Cinnamon Toast Crunch Tres Leches, Vanilla Spice Cheerios, Spider-Verse Cereal, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Dunkaroos, and Pillsbury Lucky Charms Soft Baked Cookies.

In January, General Mills introduced a new mini breakfast bundle. It features mini versions of fan-favorites, including Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Trix and Reese’s Puffs. According to its website, the bundle comes complete with mini kitchen items for cooking up a mini breakfast, as well as even “mini-er”surprises for fans to use on the back-of-the-box kitchens.

General Mills is the maker of many household names, such as Cheerios, Nature Valley, Blue Buffalo, Häagen-Dazs, Old El Paso, Pillsbury, Betty Crocker, Yoplait, Annie’s, Wanchai Ferry, Yoki and more.

The company is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It reportedly generated fiscal 2022 net sales of $19 billion. The company’s additional share of non-consolidated joint venture net sales totaled just over $1 billion.

First founded in 1866, General Mills operates in over 100 countries with over 100 brands.
