Last month, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul extended the state’s eviction moratorium, preventing landlords from removing tenants who don’t pay rent. To help compensate the landlords for their financial losses, Hochul on Thursday announced an additional $125 million in rent relief for landlords who couldn’t qualify for the state’s Emergency Rental Assistance program.
