New York City is dealing with the aftermath of yesterday’s snowstorm.

Residents have to free sidewalks in front of their houses from snow. We talked to some who say the rules don’t really make sense.

New York City residents and business owners have a few hours after snowfall ends to clean up the sidewalk in front of their buildings.

They have to clear a path which is at least 4 feet wide. But the snow cannot be pushed on the streets or onto corner ramps. It can cost up to $250 if the rule is not followed.

Jana, New York City resident, said: “It doesn’t make sense, should I take the snow into my apartment? What am I supposed to do with it then?”

Another New York City resident agreed, saying the snow has to end up somewhere.

Harold Robbins said: “That doesn’t make sense to me. What are they gonna do with it then? They could put it in their coffee or something.”

Luckily it seems like by now most of the city’s snow has been cleaned up without any complications.

But in upstate New York, it may be a different story.
