New Yorkers Rally Against the No Criminal Background Checks Bill in City Council

Live Chat

A coalition of organizations of teachers, nurses, MTA workers, and other middle-class New Yorkers will rally on the steps of City Hall with a determined message for the 30 City Council members who have sponsored Intro. 632, which would ban criminal background checks of prospective tenants. They say this proposed legislation puts the safety and well-being of children, families, grandparents, single mothers, and the elderly at risk. Protesters demand that the city council abandon this bill or they will abandon council members in the upcoming reelection.

NTD will livestream the event.
