New Zealand is preparing for ex-Cyclone Cook. The former cyclone is expected to make landfall in New Zealand today. The winds already killed one person in New Caledonia. The ex-cyclone will first make contact with New Zealand’s North Island.

Winds up to 93.2 miles (150 kilometers) per hour are expected. Many roads are already closed due to last week’s ex-Cyclone Debbie. Seaside areas of the Coromandel Peninsula, north of Auckland, are already being evacuated.
