A newlywed couple who threw a “Make America Great Again (MAGA)”-themed wedding heaped praise upon President Donald Trump for dropping by.

Nicole Perosi and PJ Mongelli were wed at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, on July 20.

The pair told Fox News that they support Trump and it was an easy decision to choose his club to host the big day. They got engaged at the club in 2017 and had been trying to figure out how to get Trump to appear to commemorate the special event, including sending him a number of invitations.

Trump appeared during cocktail hour and Mongelli asked him to return later.

“Staten Island is the greatest,” Trump responded. “I love it. I’ll see if I can stop by.”

Trump indeed returned once more guests arrived and attendees started chanting “USA” and “New York.”

“The response was amazing, the energy in that whole ballroom was unbelievable. Even the staff said they have never seen a wedding with such energy,” said Perosi.

In one video posted online, Trump can be seen hugging the couple and complimented Mongelli’s looks.

“Where’s the groom? Handsome—look at his shoulders,” Trump said. “Nobody’s gonna mess with him.”

Various attendees took selfies with Trump after he posed with the bride and groom.

The couple told Fox they were pleased for Trump to appear but would have been happy if any president was there.

“The leader of the free world is at our wedding, and even though we’re very proud Trump supporters, most importantly we’re all proud Americans,” they said.

Mongelli added, “He wants to keep us safe, he wants to keep us working, why wouldn’t you want to support that? And if the left would come a little in the middle, a little bit more to the right, this country would be unstoppable.”

Michigan Wedding

A couple got married earlier this month in Michigan without Trump present but with a slew of Trump-themed gear.

“It looked like America threw up all over my wedding and I’m not sorry,” bride Audra Johnson told Fox 17 News.

She and new husband Jeff Johnson celebrated their special day on July 4, surrounded by friends and family all sporting “Make America Great Again” hats.

The couple went full-out for the occasion: reception tables featuring petitions for a pro-life bill known as the “heartbeat bill,” groomsmen cufflinks featured “don’t tread on me” slogans, and American flags painted on the bridge’s nails.

While the bride did don a traditional white gown for the occasion, she also had a special one she changed into afterwards. Her dress featured President Trump’s “Make America Great Again” across the front, and even had a train with the words “Trump” on it.

“The dress is actually an Andre Soriano original,” Johnson told Fox 17 News. “It’s actually made out of a MAGA flag.”

Johnson told the broadcaster that she was never particularly political until Trump “came out and said ‘It’s okay to love your country, it’s okay to put the people in your country first, it’s okay to maybe not be politically correct.”
