No federal money for abortion: House votes to overturn Obama regulation
WASHINGTON, DC - SEPTEMBER 16: Protesters hold signs protesting Planned Parenthood

The US House of Representatives has voted to overturn an 11th-hour Obama regulation that banned states from withholding federal funds from organizations that provide abortions.

Obama pushed through his regulation just before leaving office, providing an additional obstacle for Republican lawmakers and President Donald Trump who take a pro-life stance, and want to de-fund Planned Parenthood, a reproductive health organization that offers abortions.

HJ Res 43 passed with 230 votes to 188 and will now need to clear the Senate, before being signed by President Trump.
