No US Apps in China? Then No Chinese Apps in US: Casey Fleming

A new online shopping platform has surpassed Amazon and is surging toward the title of the most downloaded app in the United States. It’s called Temu, a Chinese-owned app that is a sibling of another popular platform based in China, called Pinduodu.

Now, Pinduodu is in the spotlight, with its reach seemingly even broader than TikTok’s.

Here’s the issue. According to cybersecurity experts, Pinduodu can bypass users’ cell phone security. This Chinese app can also monitor the activities of other apps, check notifications, read private messages, and change settings—all done without the phone owner’s permission or knowledge.

NTD spoke to Casey Fleming, CEO of BlackOps Partners, for his insight into the issue.
