President Trump said North Korea is a “big problem” on May 26 but it’s one that will be resolved.
The president was speaking to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in a bilateral meeting ahead of a G-7 summit.
“We’ll be discussing many things including of course North Korea which is very much on our minds. We’ll be discussing terrorism. But I think we will really be focused on the North Korean problem. It’s a big problem, it’s a world problem, and it will be solved at some point. It will be solved, you can bet on that,” said Trump.
North Korea is continuing to develop its nuclear and missile program. Experts said Pyongyang could have a missile that can hit the U.S. some time after 2020.
