It’s the first time a Norwegian prime minister has visited Beijing in a decade.

Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping on April 10. The two leaders held talks with the delegations from Norway and China present.

Relations between the two countries has been tense since 2010, a Norwegian committee awarded the Nobel Peace Prize to Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo.

Liu is a literary critic, writer, professor, and human rights activist. He is still in prison in China.
