On April 26, the U.S. House of Representatives narrowly passed a bill to raise the nation’s $31.4 trillion debt ceiling, defying President Joe Biden by attaching sweeping spending cuts for the next decade.

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts filed a lawsuit against Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and his hand-picked oversight board. According to the complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northwestern District of Florida, the theme park giant is accusing DeSantis of engaging in “a targeted campaign of government retaliation” as “punishment for Disney’s protected speech.”

Former President Donald Trump’s legal team sent a letter to Congress asking them to intervene in the dispute over classified documents, alleging the Justice Department has misled the courts and the public about how sensitive memos ended up at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
