Israel intensified its military operations against Hamas, as troops recovered the bodies of five hostages in Gaza’s tunnel system. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Israeli troops after a Knesset session where he said, “We will not stop fighting.” Hamas and the Islamic Jihad reportedly turned down a deal for a permanent ceasefire proposed by Egypt that would have required Hamas to give up control of the Gaza Strip.
A 7,000-person-strong migrant caravan—the largest one in over a year—is traveling through Mexico and heading toward the United States, with more joining along the way. This comes just ahead of Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s meeting with the Mexican president, in hopes of curbing the influx.
