With overwhelming bipartisan support, the House passed a bill that could ban TikTok if it doesn’t break ties with it’s Chinese parent company, ByteDance. Just 15 Republicans and 50 Democrats voted against the bill. The White House called on the Senate to act quickly, but Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has not committed to a vote.

The European Union has passed the first law in the world that governs AI technologies. It bans certain uses of the technology, such as social-scoring systems and programs that read emotions.

Russian President Vladimir Putin says he’s ready to use nuclear weapons if Russia’s sovereignty or independence is threatened. Putin has made similar remarks since the war with Ukraine began. The comments this time came just days before Russia’s presidential election.

Fulton County judge Scott McAfee has dismissed three charges against former President Donald Trump in the Georgia RICO case. In total, the judge threw out six charges for President Trump and his co-defendants. The judge said the charges lacked detail.
