Israel and Hamas accused each other of violating ceasefire agreements on day one of the extended truce. After the fighting settled down, the hostage-prisoner exchange continued on as planned.

A memorial service for former First Lady Rosalynn Carter was held in Atlanta, Georgia. Her husband, former President Jimmy Carter, and President Joe Biden were among those who attended the ceremony.

Disgraced former South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh was sentenced again for state financial crimes. He got another 27 years in prison, while currently serving two life sentences.
