Utah officials are seeking the death penalty for the suspected assassin of Charlie Kirk. Prosecutors say new DNA evidence at the crime scene links the suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. Meanwhile, FBI Director Kash Patel testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee today for the first time since his confirmation, with questions largely focused on the bureau’s handling of the Kirk assassination case.

President Trump is filing a $15 billion lawsuit against The New York Times, four of its reporters, and Penguin Random House, accusing them of defamation during the 2024 election. He arrived in London today for his second state visit, with the U.S. and U.K. expected to announce trade deals worth more than $10 billion.
