Police say 15-year-old Natalie Rupnow opened fire at a private Christian school in Madison, Wisconsin on Monday, killing two and wounding six others. The names of the student and teacher who were killed have been released by the local medical examiner: 14-year-old Rubi Vergara and 42-year-old Erin Michelle West were pronounced dead at the scene.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said she’s ready to do “whatever it takes to hold the killer accountable” in the UnitedHealthcare CEO murder case. The suspected shooter, Luigi Mangione, is scheduled to appear in a Pennsylvania court on Thursday morning for an extradition hearing. Mangione’s attorney said on Wednesday that the 26-year-old is expected to waive his right to fight extradition in court. The Pennsylvania judge must approve the waiver or proceed with a hearing on Thursday morning, following a separate session on Mangione’s local charges.
