The Israeli ambassador to the United States has said that a cease-fire deal to end the fighting between Israel and the Lebanon-based Hezbollah terrorist group could be reached “within days.” Ambassador Michael Herzog told Israeli Army Radio on Monday that there remained “points to finalize,” and that any deal required agreement from the government. However, he said the two sides are within days of securing a deal.
In the remaining weeks of his term, President Joe Biden is racing against the clock to issue billions of dollars in grants and to take other steps to preserve his legacy before President-elect Donald Trump takes office on Jan. 20.
Trump is almost done finalizing his potential Cabinet. His most recent nominees include Brooke Rollins for Agriculture Secretary, Russ Vought for the Office of Management and Budget, and Lori Chavez-DeRemer for Labor Secretary.
