Hurricane Beryl made landfall in south Texas as a category 1 storm on Monday morning. Some 1.7 million Texans were left without power, while more than 1,300 flights were canceled across the country.

No political party won a majority in France’s parliamentary elections on Sunday. A left-wing coalition finished in first place with President Emmanuel Macron’s Ensemble coming in second, and Marine Le Pen’s National Front party in third.
