Owners of Teslas and other EVs in Chicago have been having trouble charging their vehicles due to the extreme cold. This is happening while the nation’s energy and transportation departments are pouring billions into building charging stations across the country. President Joe Biden has set a goal that by 2030, half of all new vehicle sales in the United States should be electric vehicles.

Winter storms are still barreling across the nation, and are being blamed for dozens of deaths nationwide. But forecasters say the end is in sight—although snow is continuing to fall across broad areas of the country.
