Allen Weisselberg, the former chief financial officer of the Trump organization, pleaded guilty to perjury in New York on Monday. Mr. Weisselberg will spend five months in jail after prosecutors said he lied under oath during questioning in former President Donald Trump’s fraud trial.
This is a new case against the former CFO, and it comes just weeks before President Trump is scheduled to stand trial on separate allegations that he falsified business records to cover up hush money payments.
President Trump has pleaded not guilty, and denies any wrongdoing.
