Federal authorities in Massachusetts have charged 26 alleged leaders, members, and associates of the Trinitarios gang with racketeering and drug trafficking offenses, the FBI reported on June 9. The offenses are tied to five murders and 19 attempted murders.

The charges are part of Operation Summer Heat 2.0, a joint Homeland Security Task Force investigation. Prosecutors say the Trinitarios have been linked to 15 murders over the past decade and are accused of trafficking fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine.
